The Boone’s

Three generations of Major League Baseball players make the Boone family one of the most impressive families to ever play the game. The Boone lineage all began with Ray Boone, an infielder who saw the world with the U.S. Navy and played for six teams in his 13-year career. Ray was a two-time All-Star and a World Series champion. Although Ray had some career in the big leagues, he most importantly passed on his inclination towards baseball to his son, Bob.

Bob Boone picked up right where his father left off. He played 19 years of quality baseball, winning one World Series, seven Gold Glove Awards, and appeared in four All-Star games. After retiring from the game of baseball, Boone somewhat unsuccessfully managed two teams before officially retiring. However, if you thought that would be the last of the Boone lineage, you would be mistaken.

Bob’s oldest son Brett had an impressive 14-year career, playing for six teams. He was a three-time All-Star, four-time Gold Glove winner, two-time Silver Slugger winner, and led the American League in RBI’s.

Brett’s younger brother Aaron might not be the most talented of the Boone’s, but he certainly is the most notorious. Over the course of his 12-year career, Aaron only managed to hit 126 home runs and was selected for one All-Star team. However, Boone was responsible for sending the entire city of Boston in a deep depression following his extra-inning, Game 7, 2003 ALCS walk-off home run.

And while the Boone family tree has no active player in the Major Leagues, baseball is not done with the Boones. Aaron is the current New York Yankees manager, in hopes to bring a 28th World Series trophy to New York.
