The Williams sisters are two of the most decorated tennis players to step on the court. Venus Williams is a seven time Grand Slam title winner and Serena Williams is a twenty-three time Grand Slam title winner. Both girls were coached by their parents at an early age, Richard Williams and Oracene Price. There is a noted rivalry between the sisters, between the 2001 US Open and the 2017 Australian Open tournaments, they met in nine Grand Slam singles finals. They became the first two players, female or male, to play in four consecutive Grand Slam singles finals from the 2002 French Open to the 2003 Australian Open. Serena famously won all four to complete the first of the two “Serena Slams”.

Venus Williams had an amazing career with more achievements and accomplishment combined with her sister than anyone else in her sport. In her profolic career, Williams has won seven singles Grand Slam titles, thirteen titles in women’s and two mixed double titles. For her outstanding performance, she became the World No. 1 for the first time on February 25, 2002. With this award, she became the first African American to achieve this feat in the Open Era. Venus has won four Olympic Gold Medals, one in singles and three in doubles. Along with her sister, she is the only player to have won more Olympic gold medals than any other female tennis player. Among many other notable achievements in her career, Venus won the Best Female Athlete ESPY award and Best Female Tennis ESPY Award.

Serena Williams is one of the most decorated athletes of all time. She has won the Australian Open seven times, the French Open three times, Wimbledon seven times and the US Open six times. Serena holds the record for most Grand Slams in the Open Era. She is the only player to have won three different Slams six times. She became the oldest player to win a Slam, when she turned 35 years of age. Lastly, she became the oldest player to be ranked number one in the world. The Williams family is one that will be remembered for lifetimes.
