Daniel and Henrik Sedin aren’t just brothers, they are twins who also had almost identical career paths. Both of them declared for the 1999 NHL Draft, both were taken in the first round by the Vancouver Canucks. They were the second and third overall picks. Both of them played their entire playing careers as Canucks. On the ice though, they were extremely different. Henrik was a playmaking center who had 830 assists, while Daniel was a left wing who scored 393 goals. Nevertheless, both brothers own more than 1,000 career points, an Art Ross Trophy, two All-Star selections and an Olympic Gold Medal.
Henrik Sedin played 18 seasons in the NHL, for the Vancouver Canucks, from 2000 to 2018. He additionally served as the Canucks captain from 2010 until his retirement. Henrik was a skill passer and was known as a playmaker for all of his career. Henrik holds the Vancouver Canucks franchise record for all-time assists, assists in one season, the franchise points record in one season, the franchise record for most consecutive regular season games played and the franchise record for all-time leading scorer.
Daniel Sedin also played for 18 seasons with the Canucks. Daniel was known as a goal-scorer. Daniel tallied 393 goals and 648 assists in 1,306 games played in the NHL. Ranking him as the Canucks second-highest points scorer all time. Daniel holds the Vancouver Canucks’ franchise record for all-time goals and the franchise record for all-time power-play goals.
