When home run king Barry Bonds hit 30 dingers and stole 30 bags for the fifth time in his career, he became only the second man in baseball history to accomplish this feat. His father, Bobby Bonds was the first. Bobby also became only the second player, after Willie Mays, to reach 300 home runs and swipe 300 bags.

Bobby Bonds was a right fielder who played baseball from 1968 to 1981, primarily with the San Francisco Giants. He is noted for his outstanding power and speed. Together with Barry Bonds, he is part of baseball’s most accomplished father-son combination. Holding the record for combined home runs, RBI’s, and stolen bases. A prolific lead off hitter who also set major league records for most home runs in a career and a season. Both records have since been broken.

Barry Bonds was a left fielder, who played 22 seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates and the San Francisco Giants. He received a record seven NL MVP awards, eight Gold Glove awards, a record 12 Silver Slugger awards, and 14 All-Star selections. He is considered to be one of the greatest baseball players of all time. Bonds was regarded as an exceptional hitter, he led MLB in on-base slugging six times, and placed within the top five hitters in 12 of his 17 qualifying seasons. He holds many MLB hitting records, including most career home runs, most home runs in a single season, and most career walks. Bonds was also known as a talented all-around baseball player. He won eight Gold Glove awards for his defensive play in the outfield. He stole 514 bases with his speed, becoming the first and only MLB player to date with at least 500 home runs and 500 stolen bases.
